How would you rate my other Fantasy Football Team?

I am in two fantasy football leagues and i wanted to get some opinions on how well i drafted and any suggestions or improvements you might have to make my team even better. I was 10th pick overall out of 12 teams!

QBs only get 4 points for TD passes.

RBs get 6 points for TDs.

WRs get 6 points for TDs.

STARTERS:

QB - Tony Romo

RB - Clinton Portis

RB - Michael Turner

RB/WR - Selvin Young

WR - Anquan Boldin

WR - Marvin Harrison

TE - Jeremy Shockey

DP - Patrick Willis

D/ST - Patriots

K - Josh Brown

BACKUPS:

QB- Matt Leinart

QB - Kyle Orton

WR - Nate Burleson

WR - Kevin Curtis

WR - Kevin Walter

TE - Zach Miller

D - Steelers

DP - Kirk Morrison

DP - Paul Posluszny

DP - E.J. Henderson

These are the settings:

1-3 QBs

2-3 RBs

2-4 WRs

1-2 TEs

NO LIMIT on defensive players

1-2 Defenses

1-2 Kickers

I know these settings suck but there is nothing i can do about it.

P.S. 10 Points for the BEST answer...

  1. I liek your team a lot. A few guys like Turner have HUGE upside. I just worry you might be counting a little too much on some "sleeper" picks.

Leinart might not play a single game this year, and even if he does. You're not looking at significantly more points than Orton. See if you can package him before they announce Warner as the starter.

Harrison is the #2 for the first time in his career. Peyton will still throw to him, hopefully in the end zone, but he's not going to have the 120 yard games he used to.

I like Boldin. He's got a chip on his shoulder and he's got something to prove. Hopefully you'll reep the benefits of that.

overall, in a 12 man league I think you did great. If you play the waiver wire I think you can win. I'd see if I could package a few bench players for a decent RB, but other than that I think you're good. B+

  2. Not too bad at all. Your back up WR's are a little suspect..I don't see them getting you many / if any points on your off weeks. If your starters stay healthy.. and that is a big if, you will be fine. You have a few injury prone guys in your lineup, but with a 12 man league, so does everyone else.

  3. QB- 7/10 Well obviously Romo is good in the regular season. I'm worried about if he gets injured, which hasn't happened yet so its bound to happen soon. That means you have an actual back-up as a back-up since the Cards have named Warner their starter. And even though Orton is a starter, he really hasn't shown that he's good for points in fantasy. Plus the Bears will be leaning towards the run this year.

RB- 7/10 Portis is generally a very good fantasy player so no issues there. And Selvin Young should flourish this year in the Broncos system. I'm worried about Turner truth be told. He's a first year starter that did well in San Diego because his counter part was... well one of the greatest rushers in the game. Now he's all by his lonesome with a decent offensive line. Personally I would take him out, move up Young and then put in another wide reciever for game 1. Just to see how he does.

WR- 9/10 Your WR Core is excellent.Boldin always has a good year, especially now that Warner will be throwing the ball in Arizona. And Harrison should be back to usual form coming off last season. But if either one falters you have the #1 guy for the Seahawks and Texans in Burleson and Walters. And Curtis had a surprisingly good but quiet fantasy season last year racking up over 1000 yards recieving in his first starting year in Philly... without a full season of a healthy McNabb.

TE- 9/10 Shockey is without a doubt one of the most dominant recieving tight ends in the game. Now that he is back with Saints coach Peyton and he has the accurate Drew Brees, I'm honestly looking for a big year out of him. I mean c'mon, who else does Brees have to throw the ball to except for Colston and Bush... and then expect a big play to happen afterwards? And Miller does get some snaps and has been a good target in the Red Zone the last couple of seaons.

D- 10/10  How can I not give a perfect score when your back-up D is the Steelers? I think the Patriots D will have another outstanding season, especially now that Lynch is on board. And like I said when the Steelers D is your back-up, your pretty much set at that position.

DP- 7/10 As long as Willis doesn't get injured then you are really good at this position. If he does, there isn't a stand out player in your back-ups that I think will make a huge impact on your team like Willis can and will. Not bad by any means, just below real good that's all.

K- 8/10 Brown has always been a consistent kicker. The problem I have with this pick is that the Seahawks don't really kick that many field goals. You want someone like a Rob Bironas or a Mason Crosby at this position. A team that will struggle to put points on the board. He's definitley a solid pick, and I also wasn't in your draft, but maybe you could of gotten  something a little more out of this position.

Overall-  8.1 This team has great strengths and some slightly visible weaknesses. However as long as your starters stay healthy and you get some favorable match ups (I'm mean in real life so your fantasy players can rack up the points) I have no doubt that this is a championship contending team in your league. (not sure if you have playoffs or not, if you do you should definitely go deep into them as a number 5 or 6 seed.) Again this is just my perspective and I'm judging a lot of this last part on not only the players on your team, but the players you don't have on your team. Which means someone else probably does have them. Good luck!
