How would you react to this situation?

a person brags that he/she has 65 pairs of designer flip-flops.

how would you react to that?

a.) make a violent reaction about him/her and pretend that you know this person.

b.) ignore this person because you don't know him/her and you don't know if what he/she's saying is true or not.

Because I simply do not believe that I would be interested in getting to know someone that bragged about having 65 pairs of designer flip-flps.

I mean designer flip-flops?  So she is the queen of the trailer park?  And I could barely see what difference it would make to me whether the statement was true or not, except that if he/she was lying that would be even better reason not to know them.  A lie should at least be about something interesting or amusing.

I would want to be their friend if we had the same size shoe!  If I have 65 pairs of designer flip-flops I wouldn't brag but I might throw it out there every now and then.

I would feel pity for the person that they waste their money on designer flip flops whereas that money could have gone to more a worthwhile purchase.

B, for the reasons you gave in your point - I don't know this person.  I don't know if they're telling the truth.  I don't know why they feel the need to brag about such a useless fact to a complete stranger.

I don't base my desire to know a person on what they own.  I couldn't care less that they own 65 pairs of designer flip-flops.  I couldn't care less if they own 55 custom Rolls-Royces, Bentleys, Lamborghinis, or Ferraris.  The fact that they're bragging to a total stranger would be enough to convince me that I don't want to know them any better.
