  1. Dada d best, yes I will remember him,

In fact I like to see him as a coach of an Indian team after he gets retires (after 3-4 years). Just imagine,

Happy birthday to Dada wish u a great success in upcoming years,

  2. I would say the combination of option (1) and (3) ....He was an adimriable captain who took Indian Cricket to a whole new level..... Charisma is something he has in abundance coz when he plays his best one can only be only astounded to see an altogether different persona....When he is the captain he looks like a Tiger on the field.... Many people would have hanged up his boots when the odds are so against you... look at Azharuddin and Jadeja..... But Sourav fought back and claimed his place in the team.... The person whom you want as a leader in the team......

Anyways Happy Birthday Sourav.... I hope you live on to celebrate many more birthdays and you get selected in the Test Team today....

  3. I would remember him as a most inspiring batsman who gave me a lot of inspiration to cricket & his batting.I would just remember him as a great excellent batsman who never accepted defeat & alwz took up the challenge.I would remember him as a player who did lot of hard works, waited in the jungle for a long time & came back to his team.I would remember him as a man who gave me lot of passion towards cricket.I would alwz remember him as the best.Dada is just the best of the best.

    Happy birthday Dada!

Hope he comes back to ODIs as well.

    He alwz rocks!

    Go Dada!

  4. great skipper

  5. The INDIAN FIGHTER is now known as the come back King.

  6. option 3, right through his career he has fought his way hardly and has risen to the occasion several times.

His attitude of taking his opponents head-on is always sweet to watch.  Challenging might Aussies in 03 tour, famous win at lords are always high not only in his career but evergreen memories for most of us.  His sweet off side timing shots, when there will be 4 or 5 off side fielders are always sweet to watch and his mighty sixers are always cleanly hitten.

A great cricketer and one can remember for more such instances.

    Happy B'day Dada!

  7. All 4. Couldn't really choose one over the other. Somehow he has been one of the most talked about/debated/controversial characters in world cricket and has been ubiquitous in the public spotlight for one reason or the other. His repeated comebacks into the international fold is a testament to his never say die attitude, but it could never been possible if he did not also possess a great batting technique and that passion for everything he does, the "fire in the belly" as they say. I will always be saddened by the fact that his cricketing accomplishments, both as a batsman and a captain and team player, and even as a bowler, will be overshadowed by the constant talk of discrimination and internal politics conspiring to keep him out of the team. I do not think any other cricketer has had to deal with so many distractions and such pressure to perform as he has, for even when he played well there was always people who wanted him out.

Some would say that he sometimes brought controversy onto himself with pungent remarks, fiery press conferences, going public with his spats with the Chappell brothers (Ian Chappell had denounced Ganguly as too impetous to be a good captain when he was given the job), but one has to accept that when a person is being treated the way he was, he will naturally be provoked into fighting back and being outspoken when he felt he was unfairly treated.

I think Ganguly was the type of character that has the stuff legends are made of: great ability allied with great determination, against the constant menace of forces that want him out, only for time and again to return to him to save the fortunes of the team that represents a billion people, and for him to deliver and etch his way into the public imagination. No one description of the four above will ever fairly tell the story of Sourav Chandidas Ganguly; he really is what he is because he is a combination of all the qualities you mentiones.

  8. Can i choose all of the above?? Dada was a wonderful batsman. The Indian selectors are out of thier minds by not including him in the ODI team!! What has he done to deserve this. His past record in the ODI team has been fantastic. He was a great skipper, with him India won many matches - a surely great cricket mind!! He was always a really good orthodox batsman to watch. I always enjoyed his batting. He has been made a victim of discrimination and politics with the BCCI always having favourites over him. He also had to put up with Greg Chappel and even now he is being victimised by the BCCI by not including him the ODI team purely based on his age!! How bad is that?? I fell really sorry for Ganguly, he's a great player and dosen't deserve whats happening to him right now. He will go into the record books as a wonderful batsman that was unlucky and unfairly victimised by the BCCI!!

I would also like to wish him a very Happy B'day. Please don't give up support Mr Ganguly!! You have all the best wishes from all the Indian fans. Don't give up hope, I'm sure u will get into the team very soon!! Good luck in the Test series against SL!!!

  9. A man of determination with a 'never say die' spirit

  10. UR QUESTION IS LITTLE BIT DIFFICULT TO ANSWER, IT IS LIKE ASKING A MOTHER WHICH CHILD U'LL REMEMBER FOR LONG.

I would say all the four,

1)he was indeed a great skipper of the indian team, even the record proves that....no doubt he is a  passionate leader and charmistic man,he is the best skipper in the history of indian cricket, youngsters had to learn a lot from him.

2)second batsman after sachin to score 10000+ in onedayers...sachin started playing when he was 16, that's why he got so much of runs,if dada too had got a chance then no doubt he would have been the highest score...so he is definitely a fabulous batsman

3)he is definitely a man of determination with a 'never say die' spirit.u might  have seen that in the  natwest  series etween india and england.

4)first greg chappel tried ,now ms dhoni is trying to end his career.but he had silenced his critics and  had a huge comeback to indian cricket in 2007, and no doubt he will do the same once again to ms dhoni....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADA,DONT RETIRE SOON WE WANNA SEE MORE CRICKET FROM UR BAT.

IF U RETIRE THEN INDIA WILL LOSE A GREAT ALLROUNDER.

                                   DADA ROCKS

  11. Great batsman when he was in his flow,BUT also as a selfish player, there have been times when he has faked injuries on tough wickets in the morning to retire hurt then to come back later in the day when the wicket has flattened out, this coming from team mates, not my own thoughts before you indians have a go at me for making things up.

  12. Hi,

A man of determination with a 'never say die' spirit is the apt one for Ganguly.

He is the most Aggressive captain India ever had.

    bala...

  13. A great captain & an awesome batsman.

I would simply remember him for being an idol for me.

  14. A great skipper, a passionate leader and a charismatic individual!

  15. Possibly a political figure

  16. I will always remember Sourav Ganguly as the young man I saw bowing to the Goddess at a Temple.

On this day I wish you the best as you are a true Fan. I also wish Sourav a very Happy Birthday.  May he have a good day, year and life. Pray he is not abused by the janta as he is.

I see he is once again recalled by - - - to come support a failing team.  He is always kicked out then recalled to help!

#1 for me. Even though all your options are apt.
