We use avatars to represent ourselves. We personalize them with hair colors, eye colors, clothing, sunglasses, hats....However, if asked to use something completely of the natural world to do so, what would you choose?

  1. I would use a piano. I began playing when I was 3 years old & have been playing for more than 40 years. When I am stressed or have a lot on my mind, I like to go to the piano and pour out my tension & express my feelings.

  2. I'd use a Fender guitar....I love, love playing guitar and bass, and my teacher says that I have an ear for music, so I'm musically inclined, therefore a Fender guitar would suit me well. Or, at least maybe just a music note...

  3. I am as you see me to be.

  4. o would like to use maybe an ipod im always listening to music it soothes me. just to know i can be seperated from the world for a whille. or maybe a bed as a background i love to sleep

  5. I use my own symbol, a combination of old symbols of things that mean a lot to me/or represent me, put together as one symbol

  6. A cut diamond. Each person sees a different facet, but the whole is only a reflection of the light.

  7. A disjunction occurs when I make attempts to represent anything other than nature. So you must fathom the counter-spirit represented in the question, and consider how it relates to one of Goethe's comments to Eckermann, the one where he says the great majority of people don't have a clue about what constitutes art, mistaking the approach to art, the Propylea, to the transforming experience of art which may be had in the Temple above. To truly appreciate Goethe's comment one must also consider how it is complete harmony with his corpus.

Here is what I WOULD DO, if asked: refine myself as the instrument by which nature's finest may be perceived. This is a relation to nature that easily overcomes the disjunctional and uneducated impulse toward sentiment and the superficial.

  8. Each of us is a unique place of the same reality. The description is a matter of perspective.
