  1. I wouldnt i enjoy living in my huge house with aircon and 6 tv's and 4 computers 4 mobiles and much much more. You're all wasting your time......and energy .....................say No to green ...................Viva le pollution............SUVs.......

  2. I would start here: http://www.ase.org/section/_audience/con...

Then you may want to invest in a home energy audit. Auditors are local so you will have to find one where you live. In Washington D.C. there is a group called Green Homes Blue Sky, LLC (http://greenhomesbluesky.com/).

  3. I started small, works best for me so then you don't feel overwhelmed making tons of changes at once.

#1 My appliances are energy efficient (energy star) I take that a step further by washing large loads hang drying when I can. Also the cooler the water the better. Electronics I don't use often are kept unplugged.

#2 I changed my porch light to a motion detector so I don't have the light on all night & it turns on when it needs to.

#3When it gets chilly in the house I bundle w/ sweatshirts etc... I find I rarely need to use the heater.

#4 The summer  is hard to deal with without AC so I at least make sure to Replace the Air Conditioner Filters -  Dirty filters restrict airflow and can cause the system to run longer, increasing energy use. Last but not least contact your local  utility co. they usually have rebates when you buy energy efficient appliances sometimes where I live they have specials where you can trade in an old appliance like a fridge & get a new energy efficient one for FREE.  You'll find along with saving the planet you will also save $$$ WIN WIN

    6. Invest in radiant floor heating (it's pricey up front, but is cheap to use).

    7. Take shorter showers and get a toilet that uses less water per flush (or just put a brick in the water tank).

    8. Hang dry your clothes instead of using a dryer.

There are just a few suggestions...
