How would you say instant message (IM) or chat in Spanish? ?

From personal experience, all of my cousins in México use the word "chatear" for 'chatting' on IM.  It's a Spanglish word, undoubtedly, but I tell you, MANY, MANY people in Mexico are using the term!

Chatear; I am mexican and although it's a spanglish word, everyone uses it.
