  1. it is not an equation without an equal sign.

  2. 2xy - x

    = x(2y - 1)

  3. It's not an equation because there is no 'equals to' sign.

    Anyway, I'll assume it's equal to 0.

    If you want to solve for x:

    2xy - x = 0

    Now factorise:

    x (2y - 1) = 0

    x = 0/(2y - 1) = 0.

    If you want to solve for y:

    2xy - x = 0

    x (2y - 1) = 0

    2y - 1 = 0/x = 0

    2y = 1

    y = 1/2

    I hope that helps. :)

  4. It can't be simplified because "xy" and "x" are unlike terms, meaning they can't be subtracted from or added to one another. Only if you were given the values those to variables represent, you would be able to work it out. You could however say

    x(2y - 1)

  5. 16 is the answer

  6. id factor out x..

    x(2y-1)

  7. 2 times xy

    then takeeway x

    whcih = 2y
