  1. Every 2500 of insurance will cost 7.43

    (insurance)x = (cost)

    hence, 2500x = 7.34

    so, x = 0.002936

    If she buys $30 000 of insurance:

    cost = 30000 * 0.002936 = 88.08

  2. another method: use proportions to solve this problem

    write " $7.43 for every $2500" as 7.43/2500

    set that equal to x/30,000 "cost for every $30,000"

    cross multiply and you should get 2500x=30,000 x 7.43

    2500x=222,900

    divide boths sides by 2500 and x=$89.16 for $30,000 of insurance

  3. Cost per 1 dollar of insurance = m

    m=7.43/2500

    COST = 30000(m)
