How would you suggest I anchor a gazebo to my concrete patio? Anchor Screws? Can the screws be removed?

  1. Yes definitely anchor screws. Yes they can be removed but they will leave holes. You can patch them up after you remove them. They will secure the gazebo and not cause alot of damage in the end! Good luck with your project!


  2. I would use threaded 304 or 316 stainless steel threaded rod - I have used HILTI system (see website) and they can provide a recommendation for your application. Drill into the concrete and epoxy the bolts into place then attach the mounting brackets (L shaped) - slip over the protruding threaded rod and secure with a flat washer and a nut. Not sure how thick your patio concrete is but wind loading on a gazebo can be significant so make sure you bury the threaded rod (bolts) at least 4 inches and I'd use at least 1/2 inch diameter rod...

    You can use concrete expansion anchors if you prefer - I prefer epoxy as this tends to protect the concrete and prevent water entering the hole the rod is in...

    If you wish to remove attachments at later date you can simply cut the threaded rod off flush with the concrete.
