If you're notified that you got a raise. What would you say to your boss? And how..I mean through mail or phone or in person?

  1. Although you want to avoid prying ears, you should still thank your boss in person.  All you have to say is Thank You, and smile -- your boss will know what you mean.

By the way, congratulations -- I recall one of your other questions about not being appreciated and thinking you got a raise only to discover that everyone got one.  Hope this is the recognition you were wanting.

    Best wishes.

  2. The only time I get a raise is right after a performance review and I always thank my boss for the great review. I always get "excellant" so I get the max on a raise.

  3. If you got a raise you deserve it through the good work you have done or because in most jobs you get an annual raise anyhow. you just say.. thank you for the raise when you enter the office of the boss.. Don't say that in front of all the colleagues just in case they didn't get one.. but no need to write him a note.. You deserve that money.. x*x

PS. you can always phone his office and say thank you over the phone to him... then... xx

  4. You can leave a message, but I don't think it's necessary.  You are receiving this raise due to your ability to do your job well.  Did they send a thank you to you when they said you were getting a raise?  If you weren't told of the raise during your review, I would not feel the need to say thank you.  It's based on your job performance.
