My brother is going to UTI and he is reconsidering. he says that it is because he wants a degree but we all know it is for his girlfriend and i sorta told him off when he told me he was changing his mind about UTI so now he wont talk to me. the reason i told him off is because his girlfriend runs his life he never sees his friends anymore and she is just a plane ***** to the family.

the reason that this affects me so is because we were never close till this year and he is my hero and he is doing what i can never do and i want him to have what he wants and not to have to worry about her and this is his first GF

  1. you can't let him live his own life you worry about your own

  2. Unfortunetly, he must live and learn. You have already given him your point of view and concerns. If he chooses to take his own path let him, he'll learn.

    Good luck

  3. just tell him straight and have the people who love him do the same... if he doesnt listen then forget it you cant change people only help them to change

  4. Let him live his own life and MYOB. When he comes to his senses, he can transfer back to UTI.

  5. Tell him the truth! tell him what you think about their relationship?

Tell him that she is runing your life and you should get a grip of reality! tell him that he can have another girlfired anytime and anypoint in life! So tell him to be a man and wear the pants in the relationship! tell him that it is not worth going to a school just for your girfriend. because that will mess him up later in life. guaranteed his GF will find another guy and break up with ur brother and he will be stuck at that school w/o a girlfriend in total missery!

Also tell him how much of B*** she is to the family and how that effects you all. ... .  am pretty sure after all this he can realize what is right and what is wrong.

tell your brother what you think of him and what role he plays in your life.  .. .  sit him down and talk 2 him 1on 1 and he  will understand trust me!

  6. It's a terrible fact of life:  we can't always warn our loved ones about the mistakes they're about to make.  Sometimes they just have to make them to learn from them.  The best we can do is be there to hold them up if they stumble and encourage them when they're down.  In the meantime, the gf probably knows you don't like her and reacts accordingly.  She could end up as your future sis-in-law, so now would be a good time to try and find something in common upon which to build a better relationship.

  7. I went through this with my brother. He was going to college to be a vet, but his g/f was still in high school and was afraid that if he went off to college he'd find a new woman. So i put it to him nicely and a little coy-ly. I might say something like:

"I am really envious of your girlfriend's assertiveness and confidence; I'd never have the guts to ask someone to sacrifice their own personal goals/dreams/ relationships to accomdate my own. Now that is being large and in charge!". and kind of laugh it off.

You get your point across without out right bad mouthing her, wont throw him into defensive mode, and just might give him something to think about.

    Good luck.

  8. you should try to interested in some other girls to get his thoughts and feelings away from this girl. maybe one of your friends you can trust and know will be good for him.

  9. You say you want him to have what he wants ... and apparently this girlfriend and UTI are what he wants.  It's tough when people we love make choices we don't love, but you can't change people.  Love is blind and the more you try to point that out to some people, the closer it seems to draw them.  All you can do is tell him your concerns and leave it at that.  Let him know you support him no matter what.   Girlfriends will come and go, but you'll be his sister forever.
