How would you wire a 1 Litre bottle with 6 to 8 LED's on 12VDC for night fishing?

To simplify this....I would use a 10 Lite strand of battery operated twinkle lights...Cut X's for the lite bulbs to poke out of....cut the bottom of the bottle with a clean cut...(to be re-placed and held together with good tape (Duck Tape).  Put all the wires inside including the battery pack poke the bulbs out. Tape on the bottom. Use some long wire around the top of the bottle neck, and form a handle. TADA...

That way I wouldn't have to worry about the 12 VDC thingy...
