I have gone through the complaints procedure with my bank and now I want to takie it further as I am not happy with the reply I have had from my own bank. Basically I was scammed out of £7,500 and the bank did not act quick enough in my liking and did nothing when I complained on the day that money had been stolen from my account with out permission. They are saying they feel they have done everything they can with my case as in (wrote back to me and told me they feel they cant help me!) I am shocked all round by how Lloyds TSB have treated me. I need help on how to word things and make my case sound good so I do get help from the FOS. PLease help me. Thank you

  1. You don't advise enough details as to how you got scammed. If somebody hacked into your account somehow and absconded with your funds, the bank owes you recompense. If on the other hand somebody personally scammed you and you granted them access to your account and they legally took the money, that's your problem and not the bank's. In essence, you gave the scammer permission. Is that what happened?

  2. You need to set out concisely what happened and when. Back this up with copies of any paperwork you have - letters, emails etc.

List your correspondence, phone calls to your bank.

    List their responses.

    Say why you are dissatisfied.

The Citizen's Advice Bureau will help if you speak to them, they also have access to legal advice.

There is also the small claims court, not expensive and very fair.  Companies often pay up rather than be bothered with, what to them, is a small sum.

  3. Doesn't seem fair that you got cheated out of 7,500.  You are asking to appeal a decision.  You can do it.  Write to the President of the company.
