  1. its really refreshing 2 have Sarah Palin in there. she's our best bet 2 pull our world together.. doesn't matter thats she's a women.. she seems 2 know what she's talking about and her speach wasn't paper read.. let's take a chance on her.

  2. Im voting for the black.

Not the w***e who follows mccain around.

  3. No different than all the other elections.

  4. I think it is historic. And it is about time. There aren't just these nominated people, but many many more that could be possible elected officials in the waiting. We will see more diversity in the future.

  5. Woman VP

  6. I suppose it's a good thing. It's secondary to the problems facing America, but in terms of breaking a few barriers and setting precedents, it's important. Hopefully Obama as President or Palin as VP will make such issues less important in future elections.

  7. I love palin - first real person to run for an office. probably does her own laundry, food shops etc. Finally a real person.

  8. I'll side on the black president option.

  9. Hey Hater,

I am a white male, and I say anyone must be better than what we've had for the last 8 years. Personally, I think its about time this happens, and I am glad to see it happen during my lifetime. We all might just get a different perspective on things.

  10. Yes, unless Bob Barr gets a winner with a mass write in..

but yes you are right..I wish I had your understanding of the obvious

  11. I can't believe it's taken this long.  If you think about it, though, it could still be a long time before we have a non-white president with actual slave ancestry or a female vice president (or president) who actually gives a toss about women's rights.

Also, just to add - there's a comment further down about Obama being 1/16th black and mostly Arab or something- it's just not true.  His father was African and his mother was American of Irish etc. descent.  Read the news, people!  Seriously...

  12. Doesn't really matter to me.  Qualifications and judgment matter to me and if you have those, who cares what s*x or race you are?  I am not against a black President, I am just against Obama.

  13. He isn't even 100% black.

  14. I.....ugh.....honestly don't really care.....

    Hey, look! He's not white!

Hey, look! She doesn't have a n*****k in between her legs!

    Whoopdy doo......

  15. My husband always says that women have 1/2 the money and all the p*ssy, so they already rule the world. But, just the fact that we have two unlikely, nontypical condidates makes me proud to be an American. Sarah's speech last night made me proud to be a woman living in America in 2008. She really makes the Republican party look great.

    McCain/Palin

  16. What Black president? Obama is only 1/16 Black. That's only half the amount required to claim minority status. He is 7/16 Arab and half White, so he can call himself Arab, White, or Arab-American. But not Black. That lie is the cornerstone of his campaign of lies, and it will collapse like a house of cards on Election Day when McCain & Palin take the helm for the next four years.

I have no problem with a Black president or a female vice president, so long as they're honest about who they are and what they stand for. Palin is honest to a fault. Obama lies with every other word.

  17. *shrug* who cares? Skin color doesn't matter and women already run the world.

  18. It's a step forward. Into the 1960s. Should have happened in the 1860s.

  19. Great.  It's about bloody time.

  20. The milestone is not really important to me.

It's cool, but one of them is not qualified.

  21. We are voting for the Woman.

  22. Look other nations have had women in presidential positions for many years, and if Condi Rice had run I wouldhave voted for her, not on her color or what her s*x was but because she is d**n good at her job and is tenatious. When are we going to stop worrying about color and s*x of a person and actually look at the quaulifications?

  23. It makes no difference to me as long as they can get our country back on track! If everyone felt like this we could get our s--- together in this country! This 2 year long campaign has made our country look like a three ring circus. It DOES NOT matter.

  24. Awesome!  Totally awesome!

  25. I am a white woman & I am voting for an intelligent, humble Christian man. I don't care what color his skin is. I care that he intends to bring peace & prosperity. I honor the service work he did with as a community leader which was put down at the republican convention. I am a very nice person but I won't let them get away with that one. It is an embarrassement to women to have such an air head who learned how to report the news applauded for that.

  26. There have been women leaders in other countries and also black leaders, and they have done the job, so what is this questions about?

  27. After last night I hope she becomes the President in time.

  28. As far as our having broken those glass ceilings, great! But my vote will not be based on gender or race. It will be based on the candidate with the  temperament and judgment to lead this nation into a better future, one that benefits all Americans and not just the upper echelon. His vp is fantastic, too.

    Obama/Biden!

edit: Few Americans are 100% "black". What an inane statement.

  29. normal

  30. I DON'T VOTE ON  THE COLOR OF A CANDIDATE SKIN NOR THIER GENDER IF THAT WAS SO I WOULD'NT HAVE VOTED ALL THESE YEARS .

    OBAMA/BIDEN 2008

  31. Looking at the fact that Obama isn't black, that makes his distinction pale in comparison.
