I need to create a paper that looks as though its from 1911.

Links of papers from this time would me nice. I already know how to make the paper age, but I'm just unsure how aged it should be.

  1. umm maybe put it above a fireplace (VERY ABOVE) to make it yellowish almost like a beige not YELLOW

  2. .

they should be pretty darn old looking, and handwrite it.  my event is from 1907 so yeah it should be pretty old.  but it doesnt have to be ancient, just make it wrinkled and stuff.

  3. A lot would depend on how much exposure to the light it has been.  There are papers, much older than that which still appear as white as it was when made, except, perhaps, near the edges.

In creating the realistic illusion of an aged document, you must think about the "provence" of the document.  In other words, make up an imaginary story of how the document went from its creation until the present.  Was it created, and then immediately sealed in an envelope and filed away in a deep dark cabinet, and never examined until now?  Did it get "discovered" twenty years ago and get framed and put up on a wall?  Did it sit in a working desk file, to be ignored and passed over during the passing years.

The more exposure and handling the document recieved, the more worn and yellowed it appears.
