  1. which direction the ball you are going to hit with the cue ball is going to go in????

  2. when you are trying to pot a ball follow these simple guidelines.......

look at the cue-ball and then the object ball. get yourself in a position where your cue will run in a straight line with the direction that you want to hit the cue ball in order ro pot the object ball. it is very important to get the right angle here and if you aren't in the right place then stand up and move instead of trying to move the cue. when you have the right place decide where you want to hit the cue-ball.... e.g. do you want to stroke through the top of the ball to put top-spin on the ball or bottom to bring the ball backwards?

when you have decided the angle and where you want to hit the cue-ball start cueing up so that you have a smooth cueing action going with your arm. start now looking at the object ball and not the cue-ball and imagine where it should be going when you hit it. Then when you are ready hit the ball. Don't think about positioning of the cue-ball as you should think about that when you decide where on the ball you are hitting. If you think about that then it might put you off your shot. If you follow these simple rules you will develope your game...Good luck!

  3. Draw a line from the center of the pocket to the object ball.  Where the line emerges from the side of the ball opposite of the pocket (on the "back side" of the ball) is where you want to strike the object ball with the cueball.  Follow through and watch the force.  power is often not necessary.  This is a foolproof wayy to aim, no matter the angle of the cut or the "straighness" of the shot

Straight on shots are often the most deceiving

  4. When I strike and hit the cue ball, I am thinking of where it is going to go after I pocket the object ball in the designated pocket.

  5. Pick a spot on the object ball where you would strike it if it were the cue ball to get it in the pocket.Keep looking at that spot..NOT the cue ball ...when you push your cue through, the ball should go in the pocket. Many beginners look at the cue ball (it's very difficult not to) ..with practice and confidence it should come.

  6. Don't think, stroke the cue ball.

  7. compare left and right...
