So. Do you guys think Pluto should still be a planet? I do. Especially since Jupiter is "allowed" to be The Giant planet. Why can't we have a tiny planet? I personally believe that it is too big to be a dwarf. I was just curious as to see what other people thought, and because I think 8 is a bad number of planets and it gives me an uneasy feeling in my stomach.

  1. No.

  2. As it turns out, Pluto is not anything special.  It is one of many large objects in the Kuiper Belt.  The Kuiper Belt is an enormous ring of objects similar to Pluto -- some are even larger than Pluto.  With the discovery of so many Kuiper Belt Objects similar to Pluto, it would make no sense to give Pluto planetary status and deny all these other objects.  It would also not many sense to introduce 20+ Pluto-sized planets that are part of the Kuiper Belt.

It's best for Pluto not to be a planet.

  3. yes i do. based on it's geographical structure and atmosphere. it qualifies to be one of the planets. but scientists studied that Pluto is only a minor planet because when you are gonna take a look at it, Pluto is actually grouped with the Jovian planets, and mostly of the Jovians  are large and has rings. since Pluto is the smallest and has no rings. they considered Pluto as a minor planet. but somehow, it can also be considered as an asteroid. according to the latest observations. but for me, it is still part of the major planets.
