I work in helping reduce the pollution in many ways.  

Paper Towels - I stopped using paper towels.  I chose to use natural cotton dinner napkins for when I eat.  I also use natural sponges to clean the counter tops in the kitchen.  For cleaning I use 100% cotton dish clothes for windows and dusting.  The less paper towels are used the mor chances are to save trees and less manufactoring of processing paper and glue.  Once paper towels are used some areas exclude them from being recycled due to chemical and food particles that are absorbed.  It's best to use something that can be washed and used multitudes of times.

Entertainment - My husband and I use to purchase DVDs and CDs.  I was stuck trying to organized over 350 movies and decided it was ridiculous keeping the DVDs when we no longer wanted to see the same movie.  After selling them, we have decided it's best to down load movies from either the cable company or through xbox 360.  It's not only cheaper, but the cost of producing DVDs and CDs will decrease the hazards that placed in our environment.

Gas - I use to shop in various areas several days out of the week.  This was a form of entertainment to me too.  Now I decide what is really needed and plan a day out of the week for shopping.  It saves money from having to drive to random stores and helps reduce the pollution form what my car makes when I drive.

Recycle - I not only recycle, but I go out of my way to purchase products that use recycled products.
