  1. I would have torn the place to pieces trying to find it, and would not have rested until i knew it was gone, and got in the heavy mob to search the place. Spiders are one of my biggest phobias. And the pics of this in the paper the other day was truly terrifying.

  2. Congratulations on being able to do the links...

This story broke a couple of days ago, and whilst it is true that there is a camel spider in the house, there is no proof whatsoever that it bit the dog...indeed the wife has stated in other reports that the spider squirted something in the dogs face, but these spiders don't squirt or spray...in fact it isn't even a spider, it's a solpugid.  No one actually knows what the dog died from.

This just goes to show how easy it is to bring unwanted creepy crawlies back from visits abroad!

  3. I don't think I'd ever be able to go back! I'd worry it had had babies or something!

Bear in mind, you're talking to the person who will sleep downstairs for a week if there was a spider in my room (even after it has been caught!)

  4. Not happy, I'd hunt it down and phone the nearest zoo which is 3 miles away.

  5. I'd move out and have the property tented and fumigated and then checked over inch by inch. I hate those camel spiders, they are horrible.

  6. I would also flee the house, and catch it or not, I am not sure if I would want to return there.

I would be afraid it was a female, and had laid eggs.

  7. that's shocking fancy killing the pet dog,i don't think i would want to be in there either, talk about once bitten lol.and i don't like spiders, well not them type..practise makes perfect..

  8. Just think yourself lucky that you don't live in Australia, the US and other such places. What you get in the UK is just isolated incidents.

The spider is dead by the way. It got squashed by a bloke from the Natural Museum trying to catch it!

  9. i dont mind spiders, but i dont like that one, and if it killed my dog i would want to destroy it myself. Poor family.
