  1. Usually, the men were 18 or 19 years old. Some were in their 20s. The Civilian Conservation Corps ended in the 1940s. There are some other organizations that still promote the Conservation Corps. For example, there is the Student Conservation Association (SCA) (http://www.thesca.org) and the Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) (http://www.nps.gov/youthprograms/ycc.htm... The YCC is through the National Park Service (NPS). NPS employs local high school students (15 to 17 yrs. of age) to work in local parks. The SCA is primarily focused on college age students and they can find internships throughout the US.
