  1. well I have no babies but every one I know has used tylenol ,you can call the local drug store and the can tell u how much is safe and the might even have one of them measuring spoons.

  2. I would try a vaporizer with the medicated stuff in that before I gave the baby meds.  I don't like giving babies med's either.

    good luck

  3. probably 4

  4. Tylenol and motrin are fine for babies, and they have the best affect when they are given in combination. I used to work in an E.R. and people would bring their babies in all the time with a fever. First step: give them tylenol and motrin and the fever goes right down. Just never give your baby any aspirin.

  5. "The FDA has issued a public health advisory about children's cold medicines saying that 'questions have been raised about the safety of these products and whether the benefits justify any potential risks from the use of these products in children, especially in children under 2 years of age.'"

  6. My pediatrician's "rule of thumb" - Virus, no meds, they have to run their course. Any Pharmacist can tell you what is safe. My baby was always sick (found our at 5 he had asthma, underlying cause of everything!) and anyway, my pharmacist said on the over the counter meds, don't even go to the strong Robitussins, cuz then when you need the strong stuff they don't work; and that the over the counter stuff will ALWAYS list the smallest amount possible to stretch out the illness as long as possible... duh, they want you to buy more of their stuff. Always ask the pharmacist, they hand mix so much, they know what they're doing when it comes to dosage/age/size..

Those cool mist  units kept my kiddo sick, the warm regular vaporizers (w/o vicks) always helped breathing and he loved them on. Slept better always.
