I'm 13 and I like bands like, Disturbed, System of a Down, Slipknot, Pantera, Slayer, Rage Against the Machine, Tool, Children of Bodom, Dragon force, Korn, etc. I am aware I will probably get my *** kicked in a mosh pit, but my friend went to a slayer concert in 6th grade now for him 3 years ago and he ended up okay. What age is too young to go?

  1. I think you are at the age where you can go. I am 19, I like rock music too, but my mom was/is overprotective. I wish I could have started going to concerts younger. I didn't go till I was 17 and still haven't been to many. The c**p thing is a lot of bands that I like have broken up now that I can finally go to their concerts! I don't mind going by myself, having a way to get there helps which is easier now that I'm older. You're a boy too which is one of the double standards I hate, someone I know has a son who she let go to a concert by himself when he was younger, but said she probably wouldn't have done that if she had a daughter...

  2. I don't know, we're not your parents.

How young is too young for your parents to let you be around s*x and drugs?

  3. I've been to many concerts.  Concerts are usually very safe.  I've seen lots of heavy bands like in flames, dragonforce, ozzy, hatebreed, mastodon, disturbed, slipknot, etc etc etc

You will find that even though you see some crazy looking people almost everyone is there to have a good time no one wants to see others get hurt.  I've seen many small people get knocked down in the pit and people make sure to help them back up.

There is usually plenty of security, i think its fine to go at 13 however i would suggest to go with friends or something.  It is a public place after all and you never know if there are crazies looking for a little kid by themself.

Theres very little s*x and drugs at metal shows.  Like i said ive been to tons and tons of these shows and they always pat you down as you enter.  If anyone is on drugs they take them before they get there.  Ive seen and smelt a few people smoking weed.  Seen a couple of naked people running through crowds.  Most disturbing thing ive seen was at ozzfest.  They had a body painting booths and the only girls doin it were the fat and ugly chicks.  So there was a few fat ugly chicks waking around topless but painted.

Also like i said they are usually very safe.  You could be exposed to much worse things watching TV for an equal amount of time.

  4. do u mean like alone? w/o an adult? if so i would say 18. my dad wouldnt let me go to a buckcherry concert alone when i was 17. lol. so my mom had to come with me. honestly it wasnt that bad at all. and i think i could have handled it. but disturbed and those other bands are more rock and agressive than buckcherry. i think 13 would result in some getting hurt in a mosh pit. lol. if ur mature, i guess 16. but younger i would say ALONE w/o adults there isn't a good idea.

  5. goth punk

  6. I would say you should go but do stay away from the pit you are to small and people don't give a S in there!

  7. umm depends on the concert i supose and the size

you're still pretty young and mosh pits can get pretty crazy.. when i saw the foo fighters and i was in mosh it was pretty insane.

why don't you just buy tickets for the seating area.. you'll still have a great time.

  8. stay out of the mosh, or start working out

  9. ...dragonforce?

anyways, it depends on the bands. plus, that young (even under 16) is dangerous if you go in a mosh pit, things get pretty hairy in there.
