I had my first child when I was two weeks away from being 18. And I had my daughter when I was 19.

How young is too young do you think?

  1. No HS diploma..no life experience.  Thinking you can go party and hang out; leaving your kids with other people just because.  I didn't even know what I really wanted out of life or know myself until I hit about 24.

  2. You must know that when you have a child you have to put the child's welfare and happiness first and that this condition will last for your lifetime. Until you are ready to put your child first, you are too young. You are much too young if you are not ready to give up partying and going out.

  3. I don't think it's a matter of age, but how mature you are. I got pregnant with my daughter when I was 19 and had her when I was 20. I feel like I'm an excellent mom. I quit going out, had to get rid of a lot of people in my life that were just bringing me down. It all depends when you're ready. Of course I don't think young teenagers should be getting pregnant-especially on purpose.

  4. Too young is when you cannot support the child, and you do not have enough wisdom to teach/guide/protect the child.

Some people have that at 18, some people don't ever have that.

  5. It's not an age issue. Ask yourself if your are supporting yourself or now. Are you married? Can you support a child w/o  food stamps or your parents helping you? Do you have a job? Etc.

Remember, babies don't come with instructions. You need to be prepaired to meet all of their needs day and night. Kids, are not pets. You will need to provide for then for the next eighteen years.

  6. The age of 14 popped into my head when I first read your question.

Most teenagers, however, do not have the means to support babies. Don't get me wrong, there ARE great teen mothers out there.. I know a few myself. Unfortunately this isn't the case for all. I always say if you cannot support yourself then there is no reason to think you can support someone else.

  7. 12..cause theres a 12 year old living in my neighbohood and shes pregnant
