I started dating this awesome guy whose in a bike club & this past wknd I rode for the first time with him on the freeway.. =] It was my first time it was lil scary but it was fun I enjoyed it.. but I don’t think I was sitting correctly my back was kinda hurting the next day I was kinda leaning towards him the whole way because I was alil scared to sit up fully straight & hold him around his waste because I felt like I would fall off!! Lol when your riding on the back are you okay to hold on around his waste…I fell like if I hold him around his waste when he brakes I feel like ill fall towards him… am I too paranoid but then souldnt you be smart when on a bike, he’s been riding for a while now so I do trust him, he told me I was doing good for the first time but wanting lil hints or anything that’ll help. Its not a harley , it’s the other type of bikes, I believe it’s a Yamaha. Any advice would really appreciate it!! thanks

  1. After you get used to being back there and build up some confidence you can start resting on the tank. You'll actually reach past him and put your hands on the gas tank in front of him. This will hold you up so your back is doing all the work. You just have to pay attention to the traffic so you'll know when he has to reduce speed. if you're not looking and he slows, you'll bang helmets, which is very annoying. You also need to know when he's pulling off or going to go faster so you can get a grip and stay low.

Not much comfort being a pillion.

  2. I've not been on the back with anyone for a long

time - not since a nippa - but I do know how scary

it is - but for different reasons -

I wouldn't have anyone hold me around the waist

(especially since im' in doors once pulled the zip

of my leathers down for a grope of me headlights)

I'd recommend that you hold the grab rail at the

back of the seat unit -

Relax and just let your body move to where the

bike want's to go - Don't push your body left

(or upwards - depending on how low the lean is)

if the bike wants to lean right or vice versa.

You don't have to get your knee down -

    even if he is !! (lol) - x*x -

If you were on a Harley at least you'd have no

corner/bend speeds to worry about - If on the

other hand, your were on the back of my chopper.........

well ..... - we just dont go anywhere that's likely

to have corners and bends !!!!!!!!

  3. It's a crotch rocket then I'm guessing... if he's not going over 100 then your fine to sit strait up and just grab on his waist or shoulders and relax and enjoy the ride... always make sure you lean with him on corners but not too much.

Most important- Get or wear a helmet! It can save you from brain injury or death... please take that into mind, my sister recently got into a accident on a moped and wasn't wearing a helmet and some how she did'nt hit her hear but if she did she would have died instantly... some idiot in a Dodge Ram hit her going about 50... it was the scariest thing I've been through yet! Being by your sister in the hospital when she is in critical stage and can die any moment is not fun at all...
