Somebody plugged the wrong voltage adaptor into it. It has a display but is flashes on and off and doesn't play. Help please. Haven't got the money to send it off to be fixed. Many thanks.

  1. if the fuse has not blown inside the machine it may be fitted with a reverse polarity dio,

this is a black round cylinder resistor located on the board in the place where the power lead fits to the circuit board it is about 5mm long and sometimes has a silver line around it.

if this as gone if you poke it with a s***w driver it will fall to bits, you can either replace the resistor or jump the circuit with a small wire or a solder bar across to bridge the gap where the resistor was.

if the dio is not gone or was not fitted and the internal fuse has not blown you would of fried the chips on the board and the set will need replacing

  2. Sorry, bud. Sounds like it's burnt to a crisp. Most people don't realize those little black boxes at the end of the plug have different voltages and amperages - and that it makes a big difference. In future, make sure the input voltage/amperage matches the plug bringing it in.
