Howard needs to figure out what he wants: Kobe Bryant
Dwight Howard and Kobe Bryant took some time off the Los Angeles Lakers campaign this weekend as both of them participated in the All-Star match-up between east and west conferences, but this does not meant that the usual Bryant-
Howard arguments, which we are so used to hearing in press will go away any time soon.
They won the All-Stars game at Houston in the West jerseys, but even during the stay at Houston the drama continued as there were rumours of Dwight for Rondo exchange, and interestingly Howard has made no attempts to negate the
rumours. Rather his comments have been the source of most speculation in recent days.
After winning the All-Stars game on Sunday, Kobe who surprisingly played a good part of the game on the defensive end of the court commented after the game about his thoughts on what will happen with the situation in the near future.
Earlier on Friday Howard told the reporters that Los Angeles Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak had communicated to him that he will remain in the squad after the Thursday transfer window expiry.
Kobe said that “it does not matter” what does the team management decides to do with the 6 time All-Star.
“I don’t know what they are going to do,” Bryant said Sunday at Toyota Center after helping the West defeat the East, 143-138, in the All-Star game. “But at this point … , it doesn’t matter. what matters to us is what we do on
Wednesday [against the Boston Celtics] and go from there.”
“That’s the most important thing. That’s my message to the team is that you can’t worry about the future, you can’t worry about the past, you just have to focus on the present and we really have to maximize every single game.”
Howard has not yet commented on the drama. But Kobe has made his intentions clear to him. If Howard wishes to stay with the Lakers, he will have to give it his 100 percent. The Lakers fan will want the big man to stay with the
team come Thursday, only time will tell.
