Everton goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tim-Howard-c35095, has praised the managerial skills of David Moyes, and believes that the team can secure a place in European competitions this season under his supervision.
The Merseyside outfit have emerged as an EPL force to be reckoned with over the last couple of months. After finishing their 2011/12 campaign on an ominous note, the men in blue continued from where they left off this season.
They stunned Manchester United 1-0 at Goodison Park on the opening day, and followed it up with a win at Villa Park in the next game.
Currently, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 Moyes’ unit find themselves at the third spot in the league standings.
However, after narrowly missing out on a place in the Europa League last term, the American International was confident his team will be able to stake their claim in the intercontinental tournament next year.
He believed that their team have got a world class manager in Moyes, and his shrewd tactics coupled with the electric atmosphere in the dressing room will end their wait of featuring in European football.
“David Moyes has a real good recipe for success,” he told the reporters.
“He doesn't just bring in every good player available, he brings in guys who can play two positions who will also buy into the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043 way and then he guides them along.”
Everton’s summer transfer activities saw them sign the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Pienaar-c34208. The trio’s admission has only served to further strengthen a squad which was already brimming with world class players.
Nonetheless, the 33-year old feels that his side might still not be in a position to challenge for a top-four berth. He explained that the Toffees cannot afford to spend as lavishly as the Premier League’s big boys, and they have instead set their focus
on meeting their goals in the league and the domestic cup competitions.
“The Champions League might be a stretch because we can't spend the same kind of money as the five or six clubs in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 who can. But on the pitch I think we have what it takes to do well in the Premier League. And getting back to Wembley would be great,
too.”
