The South African footballer arrived at Everton in the January transfer window on a six month loan spell from Tottenham Hotspur. He has since played an important part in the Toffees league campaign, helping them finish ahead of bitter rivals http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 in
the table for the first time in seven years.
Pienaar’s loan spell with Everton was his second stint with the club, having already played for them from 2008-11. He represented the Merseyside team in 133 matches during his first term and scored 12 goals in total. The Spurs manager, Harry Redknapp then
signed him in January 2011 for a 3 million pounds fee. However, the 30-year remained a victim of neglect at the North London club, making only 10 appearances over a period of one year.

While talking to reporters, he said: “"We've got to get Steven back. This is his home, and second time around, you can really feel that.”
“[The players] have handcuffed him to the showers. He's not going back down to London. We tease Steven all the time. He has to stay at Everton. This is his home. He knows it, we know it.”
Pienaar made an immediate mark upon arriving at Goodison Park, scoring the opening goal against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 in his first game of the season for Everton. He was also instrumental in the Toffees 4-4 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford, scoring a late
equalizer to dent the Red Devils title hopes. He signed off from season on a positive note, netting a goal in his side’s 3-1 victory over Newcastle United.
Talking on the subject of Everton’s remarkable league campaign, the American International felt that his side had the potential to finish the table on a much higher position and was proud of their performance this season.
He continued, “We’ve shown that we’ve got it in us if we keep our foot on the gas for the whole season. I think we can do some really good things and everyone’s optimistic at this point.”
