  1. It depends on the area, and if there is a high accident rate in that area. It would also depend on how many cops are out patrolling. Most cops won't pull someone over if they're doing less than 7 mph over.

  2. then when they do, everyone whines about quotas.LOL

The simple fact is, people lately have a flagrant disregard for the law.

They feel entitled to do what they want and the simple fact is, they realize there are not alot of cops out there and yes, they will get away with it 99.9% of the time.

I also recently came from a long trip. I did 55 or 65 depending on the limit. The numbers of people who would tailgate and drive agressively was amazing. I had people commiting out and out criminal acts aginst me by using their car as a weapon to tailgate, then cut me off, all because I chose not to drive 85. The real ironic part is, I could do 40, and still be within the law.

Our papers are filled everyday with deadly accidents (45,000 a year) caused by excessive speed. Way excessive speed.

Thats why I cut speeders zero slack. Its not a victimless crime. It encourgaes others to speed, wrecks other peoples day and leads to accidents and death.

  3. not enough police in the world.

(this will get some thumbs down)

  4. Highway patrol is famous for having their troopers spread out to much.  I've gone on trips and barely ever see any highway patrol.  I'm really not sure why their are so few out there.  Speeding is a serious problem on highways and interstates.

  5. I was on Interstate 86 going from PA into NY over the holiday weekend and traveling between 80-85 MPH in a 65 MPH zone.

Once in NY I passed (2) different State Troopers taking radar.  I had to be going well over 80 both times but neither made an attempt at stopping me.

    Doesn't make sense to me.
