America and the United Kingdom ALWAYS get involved somewhere down the line.

personally, i always think, "it's their country, it's their problem"

like with Iraq for instance, what did their problems have to do with our goverments, surely they could of just had S.H. assassinated or something instead of starting a big war.

  1. In many cases, the UK and US governments are afraid that if they don't act somebody else will come along and will do something that hurts the US or the UK "somewhere down the line". For example, the US government was afraid that if it didn't back Musharaf in Pakistan Musharaf might be deposed by a leader who is anti-American.

As for Sadam. If they had just shot him one of his sons would have taken over and he would have probably been angry enough at the US to start producing all of those weapons of mas destruction that Iraq didn't have, and to start selling them to real terrorists.

  2. Because Politicians don't have to do the fighting or sort out the S**t down at ground level. They go home at night to a warm cosy bed surrounded by security whilst the grunts leave their blood and guts splattered all over a foreign land.

Contrary to the now accepted belief, via Government propoganda,  terrorism did not arrive in Iraq till after invasion.

  3. This is a tough question.  On the surface it would seem true that it is their problem so let them work it out.

But, what if their country supplies something you use and their troubles make it hard to obtain, what are you going to do to replace the items?

What if their troubles drag their neighbors into conflict and those are countries you have treaties to support and defend?

What if people fleeing trouble in those nations invade your country and bring their troubles along  (note that I didn't say immigrate, I said invade as rushing across the borders)?

If the more powerful countries don't try to help stabalize the smaller countries in trouble, then it won't be long until those problems are knocking at the door.

    Want to wait until then?

    g-day!

  4. It's because like... anything major that happens in ne country will affect another becuase the different countries and governments are so interrelated these days.

In the case of Iraq, it would have been that if the country had been further dictated, then there would have been a possible cut of oil from Iraq, which would then majorly effect other countries who they trade with and their economies.

I know what you mean when you say "it's their country, it's their problem", but maybe try and think about it as if it was your country that was being dictated, wouldn't you be wanting someone to come and help resolve conflicts?

  5. Well considering Britain invaded the Middle East 100 years ago and put a bunch of Dictators in power I'd say it is Britain's problem and they should fix it.

But a war in Iraq is no way to do it.

Also to the guy below, stop dreaming.  Are you saying if Iraq invaded Britain because they thought the Government was treating us bad, and when they came they killed your friends, family, neighbors, are you saying you would just allow it and not fight?  The "Terrorists" aren't fighting to come after anyone, don't be an idiot.

  6. If you are half as competent as you suggest...get into parliament and put action where your talk is.

  7. Because America was founded by people who believe freedom is priceless, a right beyond that which any man can bestow, "endowed by our creator"; and it is in this spirit where we find country's where freedom is non-existant, or tyranny rules, that we are compelled as human beings, as American's to fight to help those country's win their freedom as well.

The problem is these are always complicated; it is difficult to determine any given country's best path to freedom.  For example, in Afganistan, would a republic (which is what America is, not a democray, don't fool yourself) work?  Would separation of church and state at least initially work?

There are so many reasons why we choose to fight or not fight certain battles or wars; it would be great if the rest of the world didn't affect us.  But look what happens when you leave a little country like North Korea to itself.  This powerful dictatorship (who for example when handing out food to its people, food provided for by the United States, tells it's people that is reparations for the war) is about to start WWIII in the east; but they backed down when we stopped trading (whew). Some are not so easy -> Iraq for example could care less if we impose sanctions on them. They have enough oil to buy stuff from other non-UN countries.

Unfortunately, we are the good guys.  Just look at our involvement in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Middle East and all around the world. We don't always get it right; we protect our own interests yes, and the interests of freedom.

  8. True

  9. exactly!!

  10. i wish people like you would go & f*ck off to another country.you & your kind are f*ckin traitors.once our country, has gone to war, be you american or in my case english, you should always back our troops.anyway no one listens to you anyway, thats why were still there

  11. I dont know why. I feel the same as you do...unless the countries problems were to effect us, or they were drastic (like a phsycopath was killing everyone), then we should intervein. However, I think, as an american; that we should focus more on the troubles we have at HOME. I could'nt begin to list examples; there are too many.

  12. it's the terrorists we're fighting and once they're done with iraq they could come after other countries

  13. We use to do that. But liberals want us to play nice now No more assassinations it's not nice

  14. because the american people are idiots to let it happen
