The Schalke central defender is targeting a win against the French champions in their next UEFA Champions League clash at home.

Benedikt Howedes claimed that it was a hugely disappointing performance against Dusseldorf and admitted that the side should have won the game after scoring two goals in the first-half.
The defender is confident to perform this time around and wants to reach the knock-out stages of the competition. He stressed that the players are looking forward to the game as they had worked very hard to play with some of the
best teams in Europe this season.
“For us, the Dusseldorf match is in the past. We are really looking forward to this match against Montpellier. We worked hard in the league last year to qualify for this,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The German international added that the win against Olympiacos proved that Schalke can be a force in Europe this season and is certain to secure all three points against the French champions on Wednesday.
“We showed that we can say a thing or two in Europe when we faced Olympiacos. We played a great game there and deserved to win, and wins like that give you a lift,” he concluded.
