I want to get to kalighat metro station from howrah station...?

which is the closest metro station from howrah station? whats the best way to get there other than hiring a taxi?

Exactly said that the nearest Metro station from Howrah Rly station is : either

1) Mahatma Gandhi Rd

2) Central

3) Chandine chwak

4) Esplanade ...... ... all buses on the road

From Howrah station neares Metro Station is Mahatma Gandhi Road. Take bus no. 215 or 219 (many other buses are also there) to reach Mahatma Gandhi Road station. Catch Metro from there to reach Kalighat.

the closest metro station from howrah is rabindra sadan, to get to to rabindra sadan fom howrah either u have to board bus or have to get a cab!
