Compton is consider a inner-city.

Despite the bad reputation is not as bad as South Los Angeles or Watts.

Also according to an article in The Los Angeles Times, "its starting to look like a suburbank city". It depends in the street you are in Compton. Some streets are nice with nice big houses and big trucks and no crime and some are just highly dangerous.  However, Compton is changing. The majority of people who come to Compton  from the South and have never been to Compton really like Compton. Others just say its to dangeorus and ugly.
