  1. global warming doesnt make evrywhere hotter all the time, it just makes the wheater more volatile.

  2. Well, too bad for your theory that the upper Midwest isn't global.

  3. The danger of global warming is that it will make weather more unpredictable, and severe. Heat drives the weather. Global warming increases the temps in the oceans.  That increases the evaporation.   The jet stream is now out of it's 'normal' pattern.  The cold air from the Arctic reachs further south.  The increased water vapor then falls as snow.  If you noticed, the snowstorm is part of a huge continent wide storm that is bringing severe thunderstorms and tornadoes!  The everwidening parameters of weather records is a clear indication that global warming from our use of fossil fuels,is causing global climate change! How deep of snow is too much? How deep of a flood is too much? How cold is too cold?

  4. I live in Minnesota. And the whole G.W. scare pretty much wore off years ago. But lately, we've been getting a new twist in the propaganda. They're telling us that on average, spring arrives 8 hours earlier every year. That seems to be a safer claim to make. Who can disprove that? Of course, what moron would make such a statement to begin with? How would anyone know that?

  5. "Too bad upper midwest isn't global.."  That guy.  Oi.  It may not BE global, but it's PART of the Globe.  So we can take this snow, the snow that fell in Baghdad, and then the coldest winter in China in 100 years.  Put those all together...does that make it Global enough for you pal.

Onto the question at hand.  Oh yeah.  As I watched the huge flakes of snow fall on the night of April 10th, I wondered "where is this global warming?"  If it's not here, not in Iraq, and not in China...where is it?  Hmm, that's curious, isn't it?

    Global Warming is a farse!

  6. This year has been a long cold winter, and it just doesn't want to give in to spring.  We sure could use some warm weather, however the good news is the water levels will be back or above normal.

I have concluded that the earth and nature are in control and the more we think we know the less we probably do.

Its Friday and I am gone for the day so to all those on both side of the issue have a good day and a great weekend.

  7. I'm 53 years old and I haven't noticed any change in the average climate over the last half century. Has anyone out there noticed a warming trend? I'll have to see it first to believe it.

  8. more insular thinking.  dont you people realise you are not the centre of the universe?

  9. Yeah it pretty much sucks!    Jack knifed tractor trailers, plenty of cars in the ditches, most roads closed in Western and Northern MN.  Lot's of schools closed.

To make matters worse, most of the trucks that are fitted with snow plows had already had their plows taken off for the construction season, so they didn't get out on the roads in the normal time that they do.  The always do a great job though.

So, today, cold, windy, snow or freezing rain.  Forecast for Tuesday is mid 60's.  Is that GW?

  10. Just one below average winter, which doesn't mean a thing.  It happened in 1982, 1991-1992, 1999-2000.  EVERY TIME global warming came back stronger than ever.  Proof.

As long as we keep making greenhouse gases in enormous amounts, global warming will dominate in the long run.  It's simple physics.

EDIT - By the way, it's perfectly easy to use scientific data to show that Spring is ariving earlier each year.  Satellite photos of vegetation, reports of migratory bird sitings, etc.  Any scientist can see how to do it.

  12. Oh yeah this global warming is just great, no need to diet with all the snow we get to shovel now!!!

Snow in Baghdad, record cold in China, and nothing but colder temperatures year round up here. Where is this place called Global??????

I might need to go there to thaw back out but first I need to shovel the driveway, not going anywhere yet!!!!!!

Sure miss having those seasons that are warmer, what did we call those again??? OH YEAH ! Spring, Summer and fall I remember now, Gramps says don't worry because the weather has changed from year to year since he was a kid. WOW, hard to believe isn't it???

Who knew that weather was just naturally different from year to year going back to the beginning of industrialization and beyond??????

P.S. Gramps is old isn't he???? lol

  13. better now than the fishing opener!
