Norwich City midfielder Jonny Howson has taken a hit at former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-c29347 Lambert and is confident that the club will go on without him.
Howson joined Norwich on a £2 million deal from Leeds United in January and quickly established himself in the squad. The 24-year old midfielder managed 11 first team appearances for the club after recovering from a knee injury last season. His injury had
delayed his debut for the Canaries, but he managed to put it behind him and helped his club to a 12th place finish in the English top flight.
The player was the first of the Norwich players to break his silence regarding the exit of former manager Paul Lambert, who moved to Villa Park this summer after a bust-up with the club’s administration and management.
Paul Lambert achieved legendary status with the Canaries after guiding them to two back-to-back promotions, and helping them to a 12th place finish in the league. The club had come a long way in a very short time, and this is perhaps why Lambert’s
resignation shocked everyone.
Midfielder Jonny Howson is however convinced that the Canaries’ success was not all down to Lambert’s efforts, but the club’s administration and the hard work all the players put in last season.
“No, I wouldn’t say so. In my short career I’ve had five or six different managers that I’ve played under, so nothing really changes there,” he said.
“I’m very grateful to Paul Lambert bringing me to the club and giving me Premier League football.”
“But you’ve got to impress every day, no matter who the manager is. Nothing changes in how you apply yourself as a player.”
“The manager can point us in the right direction, tell us how he wants us to play but as a player, you’re the one that goes out there and does it.”
Howson is confident that the club will be able to build on last season’s success and will go on without Lambert.
Norwich have signed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chris-c9006 Hughton as Lambert’s replacement, and the former Newcastle boss has already taken charge and signed captain and striker Grant Holt on a new three-year deal and acquired two new signings in the form of Jacob Butterfield and Steven
Whittaker.
Howson is looking forward to working with the new manager and is hopeful for further success with the club.
