The easiest way to learn is to watch a game with someone who has ACTUALLY PLAYED FOOTY - not some armchair know it all.

It can be tricky to pick up but after that you will see - It is the greatest game on the planet and I'm amazed that hardly anyone outside aust plays it

The basics:

Scoring

A goal between the tall posts= 6points

A kick into the shorter posts= 1point/behind

Hit one of the tall posts= behind

Other

A kick must be more than 15m for another player to catch it to be legal or play on

A tackle should be waste up, neck down
