in TN you have to be 18 to be a server

but you can be 16 to bus tables or host

depends on state law. Some states say 15, others 16. you can check online on your state's website about laws restricting the employment of minors.

I don't know of any policy that outback has to hire only those over 18 or 21. My local outback has a hostess who can't be more than 16-17.

I would go ask when you pick up an application. The worst they can say is no!
