Question:

Hoya Rubra Plant?

I have a Hoya Rubra plant. The leaves are turning brown, it's and withering.

A couple of weeks ago I gave it plant food spikes by miracle gro, and ever since the plant has never been the same.

Can someone tell me what I've done wrong with this type of plant. What could be causing the plant to die?

  1. Take it out of the pot, rinse all the soil off the roots, and repot it in fresh soil.  With luck it will recover.

I suspect the plant food spikes are high in soluble salts. Combine those with salts probably already present in the soil, and the plant can't extract water from the soil.

Repotting in fresh soil should fix it.
