Hp media center pc 2002

Question

hp media center pc 2002 remote stopped working. The ir lights up when any key is pressed on the remote, but computer won't respond to it. tried to roll back one day but didn't fix it. Tried to roll back further, but computer will not allow. Also tried to change the ir channels by pressing dvd menu and 1 key for 5 sec. It wont blink. Uninstalled the ir receiver and reinstalled it still not working. Any suggestion will help.
