Hsu Mong-Nan earns the Asian Tour card at the Yeangder ADT
Hsu Mong-Nan of Chinese Taipei finished tied for the 18th position at the Yeangder ADT, to retain his second spot in the Asian Development Tour Order of Merit.
The tournament was being played at the National Garden Country Club, and was the final event on the Asian Development Tour roster this season.
Mong-Nan accumulated a total of US$28,309 prize money during the 2012 ADT season, and comfortably made it into the top-three in the rankings.
As a result, he will now be awarded with the Asian Tour card for the 2013 season. According to the Asian Tour’s qualifying policy, the top three players from ADT will receive invitations to play on the bigger stage next year.
Talking to the Asian Tour’s official website, Mong-Nan expressed his pleasure in earning exemption to play more events on the Asian circuit.
He stated that he used to play on the Asian Tour through country exemption category. Therefore, he always had to wait for the tour to visit his native soil, in order to get a berth in the events.
However, this will not be the case next year, as the Taiwanese star will have the privilege to play in any event on the 2013 Asian Tour roster.
“I played on the Asian Tour for 10 over years but in a country exemption category. Now I know that I have a chance to play in most of the events. I’m very happy and I feel that I have the skill and experience to play and win on the Asian Tour,” said
Hsu.
Peter Richardson of England, in the meantime, hung on to the third position in the Order of Merit to claim the last card on offer through the money list.
He is now eager to make his debut on the bigger stage, following a successful ADT season that saw him winning the PGM ADT Masters at A'Famosa in Malaysia.
“I knew I had to play well because some of the guys behind me played really well. I have the confidence and belief that I can play well and be among those guys on the Asian Tour. I’ll have to prove it next year,” said Richardson.
