Hubby's birthday, help!?

Question

I have no idea what to do for my husband's birthday next month.

He has always wanted to go to Dragon*Con, and we live about 4 hours away from Atlanta. Adding up the cost, it would be about $500 for both of us, which isn't insane but a little steep for us. I thought about just taking him to the parade, but I don't want to drive all the way there and then be like, "well, sorry, you can't go in..."

Then I thought about taking him to Florida (about 5 hours away)... but if we're going to do that we might as well go to Dragon*Con.

We have taken a lot of trips this year and I don't want to get carried away with our finances.

Help! I just can't decide!

Just throw him a surprise party, it's not about spending money as it is spending quality time.

A birthday isn't about where you go, it's abut how you spend your time together. you might have a romantic dinner at home which is better than driving 5 hours away. and Instead of spending $500 on a trip buy him a rolex or something. and what should finally blow his mind away is the amazing s*x you should give him. That would be one h**l of a birthday!!

Seriously, this is why people are so stressed for cash; spending money foolishly.  What is wrong with a nice dinner at a restaurant, going out for a couple drinks, then coming home to watch a movie together cuddled up.
