he got pulled over on my motorcycle and got cited for not having a license, i was on the back at the time and got in trouble for allowing him to drive it. my question is how do i get in trouble about insurance when i wasnt the one driving? should he get in trouble for driving without insurance not me if i wasnt the one driving? i got insurance on it that same day and they are giving me the run around and making me pay reinstatement fees and stuff and i wasnt even the one driving the thing,

  1. You got in trouble with the insurance company because you owned the cycle and you are required to have insurance on the cycle and you are not supposed to let an unlicensed driver drive your insured cycle.  Your insurance company does not want to pay out claims on unlicensed drivers

  2. it is called aiding and abetting it is your responsibility in Australia to ensure that the rider driver has license before getting in a vehicle

I see another thumbs down WHAT FOR TELLING THE TRUTH

  3. that sucks i got 2 tickets 2 day 2 i didnt have any proof of ins. but he told me if i could bring proof in that same day they will drop it and they did

  4. You allowed an unlicensed (which also means uninsured) person to drive the bike. Now you pay for it. No different than with a car.

  5. because YOU own the bike and YOU knowingly allowed an unlicensed driver to drive it.  your insurance company does not want to insure high risks, and that's what you made yourself by doing that.  if he had an accident you probably would have expected your insurance to pay the claim...BUT they could legally deny it as you allowed an unlicensed driver to drive the bike.
