Huber Urs and Looser Konny wins fourth stage of 2011 TransAlp
Stockli team’s Huber Urs and Looser Konny showed their good effort in the fourth stage of 2011 TransAlp on Tuesday, July 19. The race started in Brixen and ended in St. Vigil.
Huber and Looser took a total of 3 hours, 41 minutes and 2 seconds to cover the distance of 70.9 kilometres. Felderer Mike and Cattaneo Johnny (Team Full-Dynamix) were the runners-up with a difference of 1 minute and 37 seconds.
After winning the stage, Urs Huber told the media, "We kept the pace constantly high, in the downhill from Schatzerhütte, we were all alone in front and only the Cannondale guys were left. But in the climb to Würzjoch we managed to pull clear."
TranAlp multiple winner’s Platt Karl and Dietsch Thomas of the Bulls team finished third with a difference of 1 minute and 38 seconds.
Wieltschnig Silvio and Zorweg Heinz of the Factory Cube team took their third master stage victory. Factory Cube team riders showed their good effort took a total of 4 hours, 10 minutes and 55 seconds.
Segata Claudio and Pellegrini Claudio (Team Trento Iii) took their first runner-up podium with a difference of 7 minutes and 33 seconds.
Bolts Udo and Strobel Andreas of Centurion-Vaude team were in good form, but grabbed the third place with a difference of 12 minute and 32 seconds.
Udos Bolts said, "It’s simple: they were stronger. That’s done. That’s history. But a bad day at the TransAlp isn’t equal to a bad life.”
In the Women's Category, Neumann Katrin and Miessgang Martina (Mountain Heroes) showed their strong performance and took the fourth stage of 2011 TransAlp. Mountain Heroes riders increased their pace, but was not able to launch the attack until the final downhill and took a total of 5 hours, 24 minutes and 8 seconds to cover the distance 70.9 kilometres.
Miessgang said, "We felt the leaders right on our backs, over the whole distance. In the final descent we risked everything. We are very pleased and happy, that it worked out.”
Bresser Carsten and Sundstedt Pia (Craft-Rocky Mountain) cyclists also showed another proof of sign in mixed title of the stage with a timing of 4 hours, 26 minutes and 35 seconds.
Landtwing Milena and Kiechle Martin (Centurion-Vaude) were runners-up with a difference of 5 minutes and 26 seconds. Gärtner Matthias and Alberti Katharina (Moooove Racingteam) was in the third place with 16 minute and 23 seconds behind Bresser.
The next stage will start in St.Vigil and end in Alleghe. All the cyclists will cover the distance of 73.6 kilometres.
