Hublot defeat AMG-Mercedes in Miami Beach Polo World Cup
Kris Kampsen lit the lamp impressively nine times and had an assist, as Hublot notched a 10-5 victory over AMG-Mercedes in the opening game of the AMG-Miami Beach Polo World Cup being contested at the sands of Southern Beach in Miami, Florida.
Hublot, the defending champions of the event displayed some outstanding game play and gave their opponent no real chance to establish their dominance in the game.
The Hublot had some key blows in the opening game, wrapped up some scores from Kampsen in the second and third sets of play, and preserved their lead in the final frame to conclude a long tour with a convincing win. The game started in quite slow pace, as
only a single goal was scored from the two sides in the first set of play. Kampsen scored the only goal of the first chukka to put Hublot ahead on the scoreboard. The resilient Hublot’s defence kept AMG-Mercedes off the scoreboard in the first two sets of
play. The Hublot team notched another two scores in the next seven and half minutes of play and established their dominance in the game.
In the second half action, the brilliant strikers from AMG-Mercedes cranked up their offence and attempted to make a dramatic come-back into the game. Tommy Biddle scored the opening goal of the day for AMG-Mercedes and showed their commanding presence onto
the field. However, they failed to reduce the widely spread lead and could score only a single score in the period.
Kampsen scored another six goals while his team-mate Thomas Winter added a solitary point to take an insurmountable lead in the game. Biddle also marked four more amazing goals in the period but to no avail. Hublot played brilliantly and managed to win the
game by a commanding five-goal margin, 10-5 at the end of regulation time.
Kris was top scorer of the match with nine goals while his team-mate Thomas Winter added only a single point in the triumph. Biddle of AMG-Mercedes was also in good form but could only score five goals in the loss.
In the later competitions, the Raleigh squad demonstrated an outstanding game and overpowered Yellow Cab by three points, 8-5. In another match, Grey Goose defeated LAN-Comcast by two scores, 10-8. The LAN-Comcast team have a wonderful chance to level the
game when they earned a penalty shot worth two points. They were unable to capitalise and lost the game.
In the upcoming games, LAN-Comcast will face Hublot while AMG-Mercedes will play a match against the Raleigh team. In another amazing contest, Yellow Cab will fight against Grey Goose in an exciting match-up.
