Tottenham Hotspur midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tom-Huddlestone-c35227 is set to join Stoke City on a season-long loan spell after the player was informed that he will not be getting first team football with Tottenham this season.
The 25-year old completed a medical at Stoke’s training facilities yesterday and the deal is expected to be announced today on the club’s official website. The deal is understood to last the entire season, but reports in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 say that Spurs will have
an option to recall the player back to White Hart Lane in January if required.
News about the deal was revealed when Stoke winger http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jermaine-Pennant-c18364 announced it on his official Twitter account.
"I walked in training & got a shock saw my friend Tom Huddlestone. On loan till the end of the season”
"He's going to have a medical later - if it's all good we have got him till the end of the season," Pennant tweeted.
Huddlestone has struggled to establish himself in the Spurs first team and had previously been linked with a loan move to Aston Villa after failing to impress manager Andre Villas-Boas. The midfielder has not featured in a competitive match for almost an
entire year and has undergone two major surgeries on his right ankle which kept him on the sidelines.
He received his ankle injury in his last game for Spurs, which was against Manchester City in August 2011. The injury restricted Huddlestone to only two appearances last season.
The midfielder was not part of the Spurs squad that travelled to Newcastle last week. Spurs had cancelled out Demba Ba's opening goal through striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jermain-Defoe-c18359, but failed to add to their tally and lost after conceding a penalty in the second half.
The player will become Stoke’s third signing of the summer and will join Jamie Ness and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Kightly at the Britannia Stadium.  Spurs have a well stocked midfielder, and the player is considered as surplus to Villas-Boas’ requirements. However, the club
has the option to call him back in the January transfer window if they see fit.
The former Derby County player will begin training with the Potters this week and is expected to feature in their second game of the season, which will be played against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 at the Britannia Stadium on Sunday.
