  1. $30 is too much for that bike. seller is suggesting a tune up ($65 at your lbs). how long has it been in storage? it has 27" wheels. and my guess is, it'll need tires & tubes ($30+). if parts need to be replaced, it's difficult enough for your lbs to get replacements on new huffys, forget about finding them for these obsolete components ($$$). I'd suggest spending a few hundred on a new bike, since that's what you'll end up spending on this bike, if you're determined to stick with it..

  2. For $30 you can't go wrong... This bike will be only good for short hops around campus/town though. The brakes and shifters will be marginal, and the bike will be heavy. If you just need something to run an errand on, it will be fine. If you're buying it for longer, harder rides, not so good.

  3. Yipes. I would have a hard time spending more than $20 or so. The bike cost $59 brand new and the components are pretty much obsolete. DEFINITELY can't be considered vintage except by the person trying to sell it.

So, if all you have is $30 and you absolutely need a bike for VERY short rides, go for it. But don't expect much.
