please dont tell me how stupid we are, i dont need that right now. I really dont need that right now.

When my friend (16) and i (14) entered tokyo for our 5 month student exchange, we were given a tiny piece of paper telling us that within 90 days we must go apply for alien registration.

we tucked this piece of paper in our passports and set it aside.

we are the dumbest, stupidest people alive.

we forgot.

we leave in 4 days.

on a website it told me that we could be charged with prison time or up to but not exedint 200000 yen ($2000!)

oh my god... please help me, tell me what to do, im a complete and total mess.

please i dont need to hear how stupid i am i cant stop shaking!

will i not be allowed to fly back to canada!?

please help me!

  1. Shut up and pay up the 2,000

or else stay behind and become yakuza

  2. Contact the Canadian Consulate in Tokyo or whatever city they are based in.  They can serve you best.

  3. OMG you're so stupid!!! lol jk

you're in deep sh*t, what I'd do if I was in your situation would be contact the embassy of your country and ask them for help, they may be able to do something for you.

google their website or phone number

    Good luck

  4. You'll be fine, don't panic. Contact your nearest Canadian consulate for advice.

I imagine this will just involve a complicated trail of paperwork, you might face some kind of fine.. but contact them first, and see what they say. You'll be able to return to Canada, it's just a question of working with the Japanese authorities.

  5. You should probably contact your closest embassy (Canadian, since I think you are Canadian, right?) and find out what to do under the circumstances.  Your age should work in your favor though.
