I live in King County, Washington. There are some 5-6 treees around 70-80 ft on the other side of the road opposite to my property adjacent to a small stream. I am kind of concerned during the time of gusts that these might fall into my property. Whom should I raise this problem with? I know its the county, but not sure which dept should i call/talk. Thanks in advance.

  1. They will probaly tell you that when they fall, then they will worry about them. We had hurricanes in Tx and we had to cut up everything. They hauled it to the dump but we had to cut it up. Even on public roads.

  2. I'd try department of public works, like roads & maintenance.

If the trees fell, they'd block the roads - maybe they handle this kind of thing.

In stormy weather though, they'll be busy just cleaning up already downed trees.

Meanwhile, don't park your car within range of the treefall if you can manage it!

  3. It won't do any good to report it to anyone. The county won't do anything until the tree falls.

  4. You'll have to bring in a tree expert.  Start with the local police department.  If trees are on someone else's property there's nothing you can do except to convince them.  If it is town property, you can petition the court.

  5. your local  council or shire,, they will give all the answers you require
