Hugging koalas... is it dangerous??

Look you can cuddle the koalas in the zoo's or wildlife parks, they are used to being handled and you can have your photo taken with one.

Never go up to a wild Koala and attempt to hold one.

Koalas in the wild would not want you to hug  them they can be quite vicious and scratch you terribly. You can hug koalas that have been bought up in the Zoos or wildlife parks as they have been used to it since birth. They are well looked after and have their keeper with them

They are wild animals. Wild animals are unpredictable and can be very vicious when they are provoked. Just because Jackie Chan did it doesn't mean it is safe to walk up to a koala and hug it. There were many safeguards in place when he hugged the one he held.

most zoos will not allow you to hold a koala as they can catch disease very easily and they prefer that you don't hold a koala.  however, the australia zoo that Steve Irwin owned does allow it.

Koalas are wild animals they will scratch. The one jackie hugged was more than likely doped.
