Hughes net satellite

Question

I use a 1 watt transmitter with hughesnet for my isp my question is what tweaks may I do to speed up my throughput speed, and is there anything special I need to do with the dish itself. I noticed that the white coating on the reciever (dish) has started wearing off is this common or do I need to take action. I also use a hsn7000 modem with this.
